Each month, members submit one poem to be entered into the Chapter's Monthly Contest. The poems are read by the President without names of authors being mentioned, and the membership present votes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners anonymously. The votes are counted, and the winners are announced, and the three winning poems are read by the author. At the end of the year, all 1st Place poems are sent to an independent judge who chooses 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners from among those 1st Place poems. A trophy and certificate are awarded at the first meeting of the year, or as soon thereafter as the Judge has returned the information. for the members present at each meeting, with Certificates for first, second and third-place winners, and a judging of the first, second and third-place winners receiving a plaque trophy.
